Karen Pike 24th December 2007

The year was 2001 and I had just adopted my first Havanese, Iceman. Having never shown dogs before, Sue Nelson was one of my first mentors who encouraged me and showed me the way. I remember her teaching me about everything from nutrition to "kindness collars" to the best shampoos for a Havanese. Sue loved the Havanese breed and so she cared about the people who owned them. Sue was exemplary in her sportsmanship. I hope to honor her memory by remembering to always treat other fanciers with the kindness and goodwill with which she always treated me. Sue will be missed by me and so many others. I feel blessed that I was able to sit next to her as we watched our breed compete at Eukanuba this year. I will never forget her and her dedication to our beloved breed. With loving thoughts of Sue, Karen Pike
